Meet our president
Deidra Peaslee, EdD
President Deidra (Dee Dee) Peaslee is an innovative leader with extensive experience in higher education leadership in community colleges, public and private universities, as well as non-profit organizations. She has been the president of Saint Paul College since July 2019, and is the first woman president in the College’s 114-year history.
Under her leadership, Saint Paul College was fully reaccredited by the Higher Learning Commission; has committed to becoming an anti-racist and trauma-informed; and has redeveloped its mission, vision, and values to reflect its student-ready-campus culture and foundation in social justice. Prior to Saint Paul College, Peaslee served at Anoka-Ramsey Community College for 17 years. In addition to her experience in the Minnesota state system, she was the assistant dean for the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul University; a career planning specialist for ACT, Inc, and the interim placement director for South Dakota State University.
By 2028, Saint Paul College will graduate 1500 more students of color from academic programs that lead to jobs providing a family-sustaining wage.
Vision 2028
President Peaslee’s vision for implementing our current strategic plan, Creating a Stronger Future 2025, focuses on two key pathways to further student success. The first is facilitating transfer to four-year colleges by expanding and strengthening partnerships with these institutions, ensuring a seamless process for students seeking bachelor’s degrees.
The second pathway is to significantly increase the number of students of color who graduate from Saint Paul College by 2028, to reach 1500 graduates from programs that directly lead to high-demand, well-paying careers. These pathways reflect President Peaslee’s unwavering commitment to both equity and economic empowerment, ensuring Saint Paul College plays a crucial role in creating a more just and prosperous future for its students and the broader community.
